Did you know that new studies on depression and broken hearts, in over fifty percent of the patients were over come with illness and even death. Yes the bible once again proves it’s God inspired. King Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs nearly three thousand years ago and said… Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine,But a broken spirit dries the bones. An easier translation for dry bones is ” ” ” but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
What can we do to assure our hearts are healthy. Good question! The answer is of course in God’s word!
I believe that it’s a two fold answer. The first is believing… John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” In believing there is an assurance of a better place and being present with “Jesus!”
The second answer comes in the form of an admonition or exhortation… 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
Prayer for today. Daddy help me to over come doubt and rejoice in your truth today.
