There was a wise old king that decided to be wise in his own eyes, and virtually tried and did everything under the sun. He soon found out that there was no contentment in all that he tried. He said everything is meaningless!

His last words in his writings were… Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
