Heavenly minded

Matthew 25:31-40 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

If anybody has ever worked out, or worked hard with their hands knows what happens to their hands. We form calluses at the bottom of our fingers on our hands. You see this is what happens to our hearts after years of heart ache, let downs, hurts, depression, trials, disappointments, alcohol, drugs, anger, hate, and the list goes on. The point is that it becomes an issue of the heart. Here is how the Word describes the heart… Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked;Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart,I test the mind,Even to give every man according to his ways,According to the fruit of his doings. Romans 2:28-29 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

Let me simplify if I may what you just read, the heart is sick and needs help to get back the way it was first created to be like. Remember we were created in the image of God. But we’ve strayed away like lost sheep. So it is the heart that needs a circumcision a pulling away of the calluses, or skin that has formed over our hearts.
We need an awakening a quickening of the heart. And that my friend only happens when we boldly ask Jesus to change our heart to be like His.

Prayer for the day. Jesus if I don’t really know you come into my heart and perform surgery. I want to be heavenly minded.
