But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” -Matthew 19:14
It so ridiculously easy to become a child of God that we often have made it a religious and arduous act. The word said that He came on to His own and that His own did not receive Him But to them that received Him, He gave them the authority to become children of God. What usually happens as we age our hearts become hard and callous. We begin to act pious and form our own religious acts of worship and tendencies in how to obtain God. But the simplicity is that we must be like little children who are willing to believe what our Father in heaven says. Yes, there does come a point in our walk where we mature. Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ pend it correctly when he said, “When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” -1Corinthians 13:11. Yet he also said that love would be the only thing that would endure. Incredibly the Bible says to love our enemies and to pray for those that despitfully use us. Is it possible for us to get to a point in our walks where we have forgotten the simplicity of the gospel and forgotten who our first love was.. Or have we gotten to the point where our religion is more important then the simplicity of our relationship with God.
Prayer for the day:
Lord remind me today of the child that I was and of the man or woman that I have become. Help me to remember the simplicity of the gospel as I did when I was a child.
